Past Honky Tonk House Concerts
ON DECEMBER 9, 2006, "ALIENS-IN TRAINING" MATT & ANDY SCHLOSSER, OF
"JUST-US" FAME, OPENED FOR THE ALIEN HIMSELF, WILL KIMBROUGH!
"Just-Us" opened the show with "Let It Be Punk" (I know John Lennon and Joey
Ramone were smilin'!) and Todd Snider's "Sideshow Blues."

The evening was a ridiculous amount of fun.  As house concert virgins, we had no idea what to expect.  It turned out to be so
cool – 25 or 30 people, good food, drink, music videos on a big screen and Will. Yes, Will Kimbrough the Alien hisself hanging
out with everyone, talking music & Muhammad Ali and eating brownies. He also spent a bunch of time with my boys talking
guitars and amps and music – they haven’t quit smiling or talking about the night since we left!

Of course the music was just fantastic as Will tore through a setlist that ran from the Bis-quits to Americanitis with stops
along the way for a little Hank and Johnny Cash. I couldn’t tell you how many songs he played as I was way too in to the event
to worry about a setlist but it had to be thirty plus.  All I can say is that if there was anything he didn’t play, no one left
cheated. <G> You couldn’t ask for anything more from one guy, an acoustic guitar and an 8 watt Squier amp with no volume
knob. One of the coolest things was watching Will working the Line 6 looping machine.  I have enough of a time trying to play
three chords in succession let alone the idea of even thinking about laying down backing tracks, rhythms over top of that and
then surfing over the playback with the lead parts.  What a treat!
